Vernon Simmons was born to Vernon and Shelby Simmons in 1971. I grew up in Troy, NC, where I started singing at an early age. My father and brothers would sit on our front porch and play music on Saturday nights, and I would listen to the harmony of the old gospel songs like “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art”, and I knew there was something special about that great God they were singing about. When I was ten I gave my heart to the Lord and began to sing anytime I could sneak the mic away from our preacher, and at revival services around Troy and Asheboro. In 2003 I made a call to the Trinity Quartet about a song I heard on the radio. Mike asked me if I sang tenor and 15 years later I’m still here. What an honor to sing in a quartet and still see souls saved to a song or testimony. Today I live in Asheboro, NC with my wife, Tammy, of 23 years. I want to thank her for sharing and supporting me in this ministry. My desire is that God use me and this group through His Son to see souls saved.

Michael Toney is the lead and manager of Trinity Quartet. Born and raised in Burlington, NC, Michael accepted the Lord his senior year of high school at the age of sixteen. Billy Graham came to Williams High School in 1969 and held Revival in the gym all week long. Michael was there every night and on Friday night he accepted the Lord as his personal savior. Soon he drifted away and started singing in night clubs and country music bars. This went on for many years. In 1990 he rededicated his life back to the Lord and started singing gospel music. He started singing with the Dosse’s in a mixed quartet. Two years later he started his own trio, “Trinity”. A few years later Trinity became, Trinity Quartet. I would like to thank all the people that have been in Trinity Quartet or the years. Each one will always have a special place in my heart. I am thankful for the opportunity to sing the message in song to a lost and dying world, and be an encouragement to believers. I have been married to my wife, Tina, for 32 years. Tina also runs the sound for the group. We have two children, Austin & Heather. We go to Freedom Life Church with Pastor Ben Chavis.

I hope to see you in a service. May God Bless!

I was born in High Point, NC. Raised in Trinity, NC and reside in Thomasville. I am married with two handsome, smart boys. The smarts come for their mama! I am thankful that the Lord delivered me from drugs and alcohol in 2002. I was taught that to be saved, you had to go to the altar. I am here to let you know that I serve a God that can come knocking on your hearts door anywhere. This is why I love music so much, as God sent the Holy Spirit to me at my house, while I was alone, and saved me in my living room. Needless to say, God and I had church that day! I have always enjoyed singing and never have imagined that I would be singing in a gospel group, on stage, to be a witness to others.

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home with parents who served the Lord actively in our local church for many years. I was taught the joy of serving the Lord at an early age. I was saved at a youth event at the age of 9 years old. My mom sang in our local church group and I grew up loving Southern Gospel music. When my voice changed at the age of 15, I began singing with a local men’s quartet. I attended the Southern Gospel School of Music at the age of 19. In 2009, my mom and I, along with my cousin and a lady from our church formed a group called Surrendered. It was a great joy to sing with my family. In November of 2010, God sent me Anna who became my wife in October of 2011. In January 2013, God blessed us with our beautiful daughter Avalena Rose. We reside in the West Yanceyville area with our dog Huckelberry. It is my sincere prayer that God will continue to use me to encourage fellow believers and to share God’s message through Southern Gospel song.
